For the Winter Solstice gathering I just had, I decided to use an old richly hand dyed indigo table cloth from Japan. It is in the style of Katazome, if that means anything to you.
It had been in a storage bin in my basement for years. When I pulled it out, it smelled musty and stale. I left it draped over a chair for the night to air out. When I woke up, it still smelled. So I filled my diffuser with "Thieves" Young Living Essential Oil and set it by the draped cloth.
Within minutes the musty smell started to dissapate. I waved the cloth over the vapors and in 20 minutes there was no hint of any must, mold or staleness. It worked so well, I ran to get my comforter from my bed and did the same with it.
To prepare my home for guests, I diffused Purification the day before and while my guests were here, I diffused Awaken. Awaken is a blend of blends including, Joy, Present Time, Forgiveness, Dream Catcher and Harmony. Several commented on how wonderful my home smelled. I love the way the scents have an uplifting effect on the mind and senses and create a welcoming atmosphere in the home.
